Dear Marlen,
Before this class even started I really questioned if I wanted to stay in the class, because of all the emails stating all the work that we would have to do in the class. But then I thought about it and decided that it couldn’t be that bad if you were so straight up with us about the class instead of just letting us find out the first day. Although I still question if I made the right decision due to the amount work we got to do. But I believe the end result of this class will be the most beneficial out of all my other non major classes.
So far in this class we have learned about the monomythic journey and the different archetypes. Before this class even began I had never heard of either of these. At first I was not really interested with this at all. But then as the course went on I started to notice how each phase can relate to everyday life. The only thing that I really dislike with this class is writing poetry, I have never enjoyed doing this and I realize that there is no chance I ever will. I don’t mind writing the blogs or do most of the readings. As far as my goals for this class I guess besides getting an “A” I would have to say they would be just completing all my work on time and to the best of my ability, which I am working on, and I know that I probably have not done that so far this year which is rather disappointing.
The way in which the class is taught I like, its not just another boring lecture where the professor sits there and reads off a slide show. I find that to be the most annoying whenever you are required to attend classes and the teacher just reads off the slideshows that they provide to you through webct.
Thanks,
Stephen Moriarty
