Letter 2

Dear Marlen,

In the beginning of this semester I really questioned whether or not I really wanted to stay with the class or just drop it and pick an easier class with a lot less work. But I figured I would stick it out and do all the work to the best of my abilities. Looking back now that the semester is almost over I would say I am glad that I stayed with this class. Even though the work load was intense it got easier as the semester went on. I think the class for me would have been more enjoyable if it wasn’t at eight in the morning but I have no one to fault for that but myself. I never imagined that I would do well with the intense amount of reading that we had to do with this course, but the way you laid out the work it made it very manageable. The one thing that I really didn’t like about this class was the poetry and that is just me personally, I have never had like to poetry.

Another part about your class that has made it enjoyable is that the main part of the work was focused in the beginning of the year. It would have been impossible to complete the major amount of work in your class when all my other classes are in the main workload too. So in the beginning of the year I thought it would have been like that for the whole year and wanted to just quit, but you told us it would get easier and so did your course assistants and you have been honest with us the whole time so I believed you.

I think if I had to do it all over again I would retake your class because I really liked how you set up the work and the material covered in the class. And during class I liked how you left a lot of time to group discussion instead of just talking the whole time cause that really gets old whenever a professor just stands in front of the class and lectures day after day.
